The Biden administration is full of shit.
You might say, “Oh that’s politics for you.”
In reality, it’s unacceptable.
This guy comes out and says he’s going to release 6,500 cannabis offenders from federal prison.
He then urges governors to do the same at the state level.
But then he says the federal pardon only applies to simple possession cases.
Guess what: there are ZERO people serving time in federal prison for cannabis possession.
Currently there are an estimated 2,700 people locked up in federal prison for “crimes” like growing or dealing cannabis.
After Biden’s announcement, many of these people thought they were going home. They thought wrong.
“I’m still in shock because I thought we were all going home,” said Donald Fugitt, who is scheduled for release in about 16 months.
According to the New York Post, Fugitt said that his fellow inmates actually started cheering for the cannabis prisoners after Biden’s announcement.
Unfortunately, Fugitt, who’s serving time for dealing, won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
“Biden fed us rancid hamburger and the media is celebrating as if he served up filet mignon,” said Joseph Akers, who is scheduled for release in 2031 after a cannabis dealing conspiracy conviction.
During the 1980s and ‘90s Biden was responsible for some of the most draconian drug laws the U.S. has ever seen.
Imagine serving life in prison without parole for dealing pot. That was Biden’s vision, which he helped turn into a reality.
There are people serving life for cannabis right now, in part because of Biden.
He only pivoted his stance on cannabis in 2019 in order to win the Democratic presidential nomination.
Biden’s announcement the other week was nothing more than a political ruse ahead of the midterms in early November.
The President – who will turn 80 this November – still has a chance to make things right, but he won’t.
Just like so many other politicians, he’s beholden to large campaign doners who would prefer to keep cannabis prohibition in place due to vested interests.
